The NPORS Lorry Loader (HIAB) are essential in the in a range of industries such as construction, utilities, farming and much more. Adequate training is required before operating on site, we provide training for all experience levels.

The NPORS Lorry Loader (HIAB) training teaches delegates to operate the machinery safely and efficiently by providing the necessary skills and knowledge required. A thorough explanation of the relevant safety considerations is also provided. Once completed the delegate should be confident enough to operate the machinery correctly onsite.

Course content

By the end of the course candidates will be able to provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and other sources of information, regulations and legislation applicable to the particular machine to be used
  • Be able to locate and identify the major components of the vehicle and loader crane and explain their functions
  • Be able to locate and identify all operating controls and explain their functions
  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements
  • Configure the vehicle and loader crane ready for travel
  • Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area
  • Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure in readiness to carry out lifting duties
  • Correctly deploy the stabilisers according to stated manufacturer’s specifications
  • Comply with all requirements for rated capacity indicators or load moment indicators
  • Identify weights and centres of gravity of loads to be used
  • Carry out lifting operations using the full capabilities of the loader crane
  • Position loads accurately at designated locations including onto and from the vehicle
  • Identify, fit and remove various attachments and lifting accessories as appropriate
  • Minimise load swing and ensure load security on the vehicle
  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures

Location

All NPORS Tests and trainings can be delivered at YOUR SITE or at OUR TRAINING CENTERS in Eye (IP23 7HN) and Stonham (IP14 5DT) in English and in a range of Eastern European languages as Polish, Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Hungarian, Spanish

NPORS TRADITIONAL CARD – lasts for 5 years and is mainly accepted by some building contractor’s, housebuilders, utilities, port and marine as proof of competence.

NPORS CARD WITH CSCS LOGO – accepted by all major building contractor’s. The initial card is the RED Trained Operator card which lasts for 2 years and can be upgraded to BLUE Competent Operator which lasts for 5 years card further to completion of relevant NVQ.

HOW TO APPLY FOR NPORS CARD WITH CSCS LOGO – if you require the NPORS Lorry Loader Red Trained Operator card with the CSCS logo on you must have passed the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment Test within the last 2 years.
